MR: Success in global niches
Regulated voltage for a reliable energy supply
Our company is active in power engineering and consists of Maschinenfabrik Reinhausen GmbH (MR) and 45 subsidiaries and 4 affiliated companies globally. In the past financial year, 3.500 employees produced a turnover of 740 million euros.
Our core business is the regulation of power transformers. This is done above all with the aid of tap changers, which adapt the transmission ratio of the primary to secondary winding to changing load ratios and, together with additional, innovative products and services, ensure an interruption-free power supply.
Through increasing integration of renewable energies into the power network, this regulation also has an ever-increasing importance on the distribution network level. Here, we likewise provide innovative system solutions. Together with conceptual design of systems for reactive power compensation and accompanying services, such as network analysis and calculation, we round out our network regulation offerings.
An additional, successful field of activity is in winding fiberglass-reinforced plastic tubes, processing plastic cylinders and manufacturing composite hollow insulators.
Our vision: No transformers without a MR product
Even today, over 50% of global electricity flows through our products. As an innovative company with decades of experience in voltage regulation, we are present in every area that deals with the flow of energy. We work every day to make the global energy supply better and more secure with our solutions. This applies to our product solutions and to our extensive service offerings and our competencies in project business. We do this together with our customers, the manufacturers of high-voltage devices and systems, utility providers and voltage-intensive large-scale industry.
Together with ten partner companies, we are active members of the TRANSFORM network platform, a unique association of European premium providers in the transformer area, for the benefit of our shared customers.
Creating benefits together
MR is the leading company of the strong Reinhausen Group. Construction of high voltage testing and diagnostics systems (HighVolt test technology) is also under this umbrella. Thanks to the stringent alignment of all of these activities toward innovation, expertise and reliability, versatile synergies and customer advantages are created.
Rooted in Regensburg, Germany; at home in the world
Since the founding of our company in 1868, we have run our activities from Regensburg, Germany. Our executive board, the center of global marketing and sales activities, research and development and highly qualified jobs for various value creation levels, including large parts of production, are located here. A unique global testing and innovation center at the location also greatly contributes to the success of our company. Globally, we are represented by a service network of over 20 subsidiaries on all continents, with production sites in Germany, Sweden, China and the United States.
